Halloween 2009

For Halloween this year we went to ZooBoo in the morning and trick or treating in the evening. I greatly missed Auntie Bel at ZooBoo and expect her to step back into her traditional role next year. On the other hand it was a treat to have daddy brave the crowds with us. Juniper and I went as gypsies. I was reminded why I wear so little jewelry after only an hour of enduring all the necklaces. Bruce wore his dragon costume his Grandma Rosie bought him last year.

I was really tickled with how well Juney's skirt came out. Twirled full and everything. My mom and I made it very quickly after I found my old gypsy skirt and decided we just had to match this year :) I think I like how the coin belt (worn as a crossed sash) hung in the back best.

Bruce adored showing off his wings and even tried to "fly up" the steps at his school.

We went trick or treating with some friends of ours and their 2 daughters. The eldest, A, was an evil vampire fairy and too cute for words. I didn't get a pict of the cutest little turtle in the world though. Bruce spent his evening chasing after A as she led him to each house. Juney's best moment was at a house where they had an animated ghoul coming out of the ground. For the next 5 minutes she walked around thrusting her hand at the ground stating "scary." Otherwise she seemed pretty cool with the whole thing. There must have been around 600 kids trick or treating in this particular neighborhood.

At one point our evil vampire fairy complained that Bruce has spit on her face. When I confronted him he insisted that he'd kissed her. So I explained that he always had to ask before kissing a girl. So then he turns to A and asks if he can kiss her. She said no. Poor boy. Hope he eventually learns the lesson to ask first :)and to keep it a little dryer.

Each kid got to sit in a firetruck and honk the horn. Bruce was in a impassioned daze when he saw that firetruck. Thought he would wet his pants.
