State fair, harvestin', b-day

State Fair recently ended. I took the kids, all by myself, one Saturday. It was a lot of fun ... love the fair. Bruce became enamored with one cow that was being groomed and Juniper really liked the baby animal area. Both got a kick out of the pygmy goats and the lady on the loom. I actually managed to get the impossible-a decent picture of both kids at the same time.

Took Bruce on the ferris wheel after his daddy showed up to watch Juniper. He pointed out the mountains where the farm is and what ride he wanted to go on next :) I tried to take a picture of us both at the same time with minimal success.

Later that week Juniper helped pick peppers, eggplant, squash, and basil. Mostly it kept her out of the way of the greenhouse construction. She was very cute though. If you look closely you can see the hundreds of nursery plants we have stacked next to the garden beds awaiting their greenhouse.

Put an old preemie shirt (one she wore in the hospital) on one of her dolls. I don't think she quite got the point of how little she once was but she did like taking the thing off and on (she took it off and then made me put it on over and over and over).

Deedee, Israel, and our neighbor Sharon all share a late September birthday. Gillian brought a Darth Vader pinata. I think Bruce just about wet his pants when he saw it. Deedee got the first lick and then the others followed.

This is Kaiya our future cousin. I asked Bruce if he could remember what a cousin was ... He said, "a cousin is a Kaiya" :)

Bruce managed to knock off a leg. Was quite pleased with himself.

The spoils of the battle with the insidious Darth Vader.
