Babydoll for my babydoll

Probably doesn't mean much to anyone but me ... but Juney came out of my closet yesterday wearing the babydoll dress I was wearing when I gave birth to her. Bit longer on her though. I haven't been able to wear it since then due to lactational affects :)

Bathroom Crossword

Juniper has starting trying to remember to use the potty again. She got a potty sticker book in her Easter basket and really digs it. I wasn't actually trying to push for using the potty more ... she just loves sticker books. Surprise surprise but the sticker incentive actually works (so far). It hadn't really occurred to me to try those kinds of reward tricks w/ Juney since they were such a dismal failure with Bruce.

Hotdogging

Turn of phrase

Last few weeks when Bruce gets really mad at me while I'm trying to talk to him, he'll say "Shut up if you please" while holding his hand up. Where do they pick up these things. I was really ticked the 1st time he said it and now I just try not to laugh cuz I don't want to encourage that kind of language.

Yesterday while driving to the Westside Bruce was talking about how big ABQ was. Then he said it was Bruce's ABQ not Juney's ABQ. I told him it was everyone's ABQ. He replied, "no no no. It's only the boy with curly hair ABQ."

Since this is all about Bruce ... he really hates the hospital. He fell about 2 minutes before Easter dinner and split his forehead open all the way down to the bone. While sobbing in my arms he was saying he didn't want to go to the hospital. We get to the hospital and he pitches a fit. Wants to go home and doesn't want stitches. After 2 hours in the ER he still was pitching a fit (in between watching Cartoon Network) so we ended up sedating him for the stitches. He got 3-4 deep stitches and then they glued the surface shut. We were there from 6:30-11:30pm. Not bad all things considered. We've been to the new pediatric ER at UNMH a few times now and I have to say that I'm really quite pleased with it. They're quick (for an ER) and focused on kid's needs (even if they are part of the Western medical model) and so far everytime we've been there have been at least 2 attendings on duty. Also, we've had the same attending MD everytime we've been. It's almost like having a GP :) Although, she didn't do the stitches but rather asked the other attending, who had more sedation experience, to take Bruce on.

Bruce seems to be back to normal. He was a bit withdrawn Monday but his appetite was good and he kept busy playing. That morning when I asked if he wanted to go to school or stay home, he said he wanted to go to school. Now he says that his booboo still hurts but he doesn't complain about it unless I ask him how he feels. He, of course, won't let us take the spiderman bandaids off the wound. I did get him to let me check it yesterday for infection by lifting one side of the bandaid and then putting it back down :)
