Juney can sit on the potty

Yeahhh! August 30th and Juney has figured out how to sit on the little potties (without standing in them) and has chosen to go peepee in them several times today. She's had two accidents but dry diapers after naps and dry pants all day. We'll see if she keeps up the fascination with the potty. She also is still trying to rip Bruce off the potty anytime he sits down "to go." Wouldn't it be grand if she was out of daytime diapers soon :)

Silly ole Grandpa

Jemez Mountains

We went to the Jemez mountains last month to scout out Eric's hunting areas. The kids had a great time. It was absolutely gorgeous. Fenton Lake was a bit disappointing though. It was really crowded and I don't see the point in taking the kids to a place where they can't play in the water. There was too much cow poo by the water side for my comfort plus some boys who were trying to catch minnows in nets caught some leeches on their fingers instead. That was it for me!

The kids got to pick their first wild raspberries. The patches were all over the place (on steep hills of course). The berries were a bit sour. The kids didn't care much though. I think they would have been better for canning than fresh eating but it was so much fun to pick wild berries (despite our patch of sweet raspberries at home). I cherish the memories of berrying with my family when I was a kid so it was really sweet for me to share that experience with my kids.

Child Logic

Bruce's language skills are really blossoming. At gymnastics the other day his instructor said it was time to leave the cushions and go sit in a circle for "Circle Time." He replied with I am sitting in the circle. And he was ... he was sitting in the donut shaped cushion. His instructor couldn't argue with him so he sat there for "Circle Time."
